Stick-up crew makes off with a bag of money in armored car heist

Two bandits ran off with a bag of loot after they maced an armored truck guard during a drop off in the Bronx on Thursday, authorities said.ugg for kids ugg for kids ugg for kids

The two suspects — one clad in an MTA construction vest — approached the guard as he was delivering money to David’s Check Cashing on Third Ave. near E. 155th St. in Melrose about 7:45 a.m., authorities said.

Once the Rapid Armored Car Services guard was buzzed inside, the two thieves — one brandishing a silver handgun — pushed themselves in and made a grab for the bag of cash, authorities said.

During the struggle, one of the suspects maced the guard and the duo ran off with the money, authorities said. The driver of the armored truck spotted the bandits and fired at them, possibly hitting one.

The crooks didn’t shoot back and no one else was injured, police said.

It was not clear how much cash the pair got away with, but a law enforcement source said “a very large amount of money” was taken in theugg for kids ugg for kids ugg for kids heist.

“They don’t roll around with pennies in the back of these trucks,” the source said.

Police and FBI agents were still looking for the two suspects Thursday. They described one of the men, who was wearing the reflectiveugg for kids ugg for kids ugg for kids vest, as a black man in his 40s and shorter than 6-feet tall.

His partner is described as a black man, believed to be about 50 years old, with gray facial hair. He was wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and carrying a black plastic bag.
